FURBUS on EPALE: Empowering Change in Urban Communities through Sustainable Food

We are thrilled and excited to announce a groundbreaking initiative in the fight against food waste: FURBUS – Tackling Food Waste for Sustainability!

Food waste is a massive challenge, impacting the environment, economy, and society. But fear not, because with the support of the European Commission and under Erasmus+ (Project KA220), FURBUS is here to make a positive change!

In this European context, the Erasmus+ “FURBUS – Food resilience and sustainable eating in urban communities” project, KA220 action in adult education, was set up, bringing together partners from Lithuania – Menas ir inovacijos (coordinator), Greece – Action for the civil society, and Italy – ASCAE.

Our main goal is to foster sustainable eating habits and food resilience in urban communities through the exchange of best practices and cutting-edge digital (self)education tools.

Join us on this journey of transformation as we curate a dynamic digital map featuring 60 exemplary sustainable food practices from around the globe!

We’re also cooking up something special – an interactive online learning course with 50 micro-learning modules that equip individuals with essential skills for sustainable living. It’s a recipe for success!

In Lithuania, we’re reducing our carbon footprint with the “Know Your Food” app, while Italy’s “TooGoodToGo” connects consumers with surplus food, and Greece’s Boroume rescues and redistributes edible food to those in need.

Together, let’s take a big bite out of food waste and savor a sustainable future with FURBUS!
